Mumbai and its suburbs are in for a day of overcast skies accompanied by intermittent light to moderate rain, as forecasted by meteorologists. The city experienced scattered showers on the previous day, with varying degrees of precipitation in different localities.
According to the Indian Meteorological Department, a high tide is expected at 3.72 meters at 2:28 PM today, followed by a low tide of 0.83 meters at 8:29 PM in the evening. Looking ahead to September 21, 2023, the city anticipates a higher high tide, projected to reach 3.85 meters at 3:19 AM.
Data recorded from 8 AM on September 19, 2023, to 8 AM on September 20, 2023, revealed distinct rainfall figures across the Mumbai Metropolitan region:
Mumbai City received a total of 17.74 mm of rainfall, providing much-needed replenishment to the city’s water reservoirs.
The Eastern Suburbs witnessed a slightly higher precipitation rate, with 18.84 mm of rainfall. Meanwhile, the Western Suburbs experienced comparatively lower rainfall at 12.45 mm.The average rainfall recorded during this period was 17.1 mm in the city, with the Eastern Suburbs registering an average of 23.8 mm and the Western Suburbs 16.4 mm.
