Will ‘Kaagaz 2’ emerge as a success? | Trade speak

Satish Kaushik’s last film ‘Kaagaz 2’, set to hit screens on March 1, might do well at the box office if the content resonates with the audience.

Akshaye Rathi, an exhibitor feels that the success of the film depends solely on the word-of-mouth.

“Kaagaz 2 is a film much like any other films releasing tomorrow. It will perform based on word-of-mouth. Looking at the people involved in the film, it should be good,” he told ‘The Daily Guardian’,

Speaking about ‘Operation Valentine’, also releasing on March 1, Rathi said that the film caters to a different audience.

“Operation Valentine is a film that caters to a very different audience, predominantly Telugu-speaking audience as it is a Telugu film. However, it is also being released in Hindi language so it should have a reasonable attraction there. But it still is a mass entertainer that caters to a very different crowd whereas, Kaagaz 2 is a more urban film so both of these along with the others that are being released tomorrow can easily co-exist at the box office,” added Rathi.

The trailer of ‘Kaagaz 2’ has been receiving praise on social media. Alongside Satish Kaushik, it also features Anupam Kher, Darshan Kumaar, and Neena Gupta. The story revolves around a father seeking justice for his deceased daughter.

The film carries forward the legacy of its predecessor ‘Kaagaz’ (2021), starring Pankaj Tripathi. Going by the trailer, the sequel promises exceptional performances and a compelling narrative. These factors may help it captivate the audience. The film is directed by VK Prakash and produced by Shashi Satish Kaushik, Ratan Jain, and Ganesh Jain. It is produced by Satish Kaushik Entertainment LLP & Venus Worldwide Entertainment Pvt Ltd.

‘Kaagaz 2’ is set to open in theatres on Friday, March 1.
