Burberry muse and model Cressida Bonas, who is expecting her second child with husband Harry Wentworth-Stanley, has a fascinating past attached to the British royal family. Long before Prince Harry settled down with Meghan Markle, he had an on-and-off two-year romance with Cressida, an actress introduced to him by his cousin, Princess Eugenie.
Why Did It End?
The relationship reportedly ended due to Cressida’s apprehensions about royal life. She disclosed to one publication, with regard to what happened between viewing Prince William and Princess Kate in their NZ trip with baby George on television made her change her mind since, she feels now, royal demands were too overwhelming for her.
Royal Expert Robert Lacey reveals the full saga in the battle of Brothers. She became agitated over such glaring and non-stopping coverage criticism. “A rising actress, Cressida did not enjoy the critical remarks that she could hear people making behind her back when she walked down the street in London—she felt that the fame of her relationship put her ‘in a box,'” Lacey explained.
A friend of the former couple mentioned that the split was “completely amicable” and that they remained close friends. This was evident when Cressida attended Harry and Meghan’s wedding in 2018.
Life After Prince Harry
Cressida married Harry Wentworth-Stanley, an estate agent and son of the Marchioness of Milford Haven, in August 2020. Her understated wedding dress, costing £599, had previously been worn in a James Arthur music video.
Born in Winchester, Cressida is a child of a Lady Mary-Gaye Georgianna Lorna Curzon-a ‘it girl’ of 1960. A family history features running textile mills and Cressida herself featured on the international list of 2014 issued by Vanity Fair for “Best Dressed” followed by a pictures of Mario Testino.
In 2015, she gained the role to be Burberry’s muse for a campaign under Mulberry and also made the transition to films, appearing in Gatsby- a musical piece of The Great Gatsby film as Daisy Buchanan.
Ballet and Academic Exposure
She danced ballet when aged nine and thereafter graduated from her degree in arts at the University of Leeds while gaining a post-graduate from Laban in arts at Trinity with Conservatoire for Dance.
Despite her withdrawal from the limelight of royal life, Cressida remains to be a shining light as a fashion icon and performer, following her own distinct path.
