Unique Date-Based Cola Launched in Saudi Arabia

Recently, Saudi Arabia launched Milaf Cola, a unique drink made from dates instead of the usual sugar. The drink was introduced at the Riyadh Date Festival by Thurath Al-Madina, a subsidiary of the Saudi Public Investment Fund. CEO Bander Al-Qahtani and Agriculture Minister Abdulrahman Al-Fadley proudly unveiled the product.

Benefits of Dates in Milaf Cola

Milaf Cola’s main ingredient is premium dates, which are rich in fiber, antioxidants, and essential minerals like magnesium and potassium. These health benefits are well-known in the Middle East. Additionally, Milaf Cola contains no added sugar, positioning it as a healthier alternative to conventional sodas, all without sacrificing flavor.

Sustainable and Locally Sourced

The cola’s launch is part of a broader initiative to promote sustainable, locally sourced products. This aligns with Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030, which focuses on diversifying the economy and culture. Since Milaf Cola is made using locally sourced dates, it is considered an environmentally sustainable product. Moreover, the company ensures that the cola meets all international food safety standards.

Positive Response from Festival Goers

At the festival, attendees eagerly sampled Milaf Cola and praised its taste. Many found it both familiar and refreshingly different. One attendee shared their excitement, saying, “It’s like drinking sunshine, if sunshine tasted like dates and happiness.”

Plans for Expansion

Looking ahead, Thurath Al-Madina plans to expand the reach of Milaf Cola. The company hopes to introduce the drink to both regional and international markets. In fact, they aim to redefine how dates are perceived globally, shifting them from a traditional snack to a trendy and versatile ingredient. As one spokesperson stated, “Milaf Cola is just the beginning. We are working on a variety of products that will revolutionize how dates are consumed globally.”
