Song Kang-ho makes television debut with Disney’s ‘Uncle Samsik’

Disney has revealed the release date for its highly awaited Korean political drama, ‘Uncle Samsik,’ which will showcase the television debut of Korean actor Song Kang-Ho. The series is scheduled to premiere with a five-episode launch on May 15, exclusively on Disney internationally and on Hulu in the US. Following the premiere, the 16-part series will continue with two episodes per week until a three-part season finale on June 19.

Directed by veteran Korean filmmaker Shin Yeon-Shick, known for works like ‘The Russian Novel’ and ‘Cobweb,’ ‘Uncle Samsik’ is set in 1960s Korea. The plot centers on Kim San, portrayed by Byun Yohan, an idealistic individual determined to revolutionize his country’s fate by ushering in an era of industrial prosperity similar to America’s affluence. However, his journey is intertwined with the mysterious figure of Pak Doochill, played by Song, who operates as a clandestine operative willing to employ any means necessary to achieve their shared objectives.

‘Uncle Samsik’ is expected to enthrall audiences with its intriguing storyline and outstanding performances, serving as a compelling addition to the realm of political drama. As excitement builds for its debut, fans are eager to see Song Kang-Ho’s transition from the big screen to the small screen.
