Priyanka Chopra has declared that she would not be attending the Met Gala in 2024 on the red carpet. The actress revealed that her shooting schedule prevents her from attending the yearly fashion event. For those who don’t know, Priyanka is currently filming Heads of State in Europe. On social media, the actress has been posting pictures and videos from the sets. Priyanka stated in a recent interview that she is still behind schedule with filming and won’t be attending the Met Gala this year.
“I don’t even know who’s going this year. I’m definitely not attending this year because I’m filming, but I think I really do enjoy watching people’s creativity during the Met Gala and I am really excited to see how it will turn out. I actually have not read anything about who all is going this year,” According to Priyanka Chopra, Access Hollywood. Priyanka expressed her surprise at learning that Zendaya will be there by saying, “She’s amazing, so we definitely look forward to her.”
Priyanka has already made three trips to the Met Gala. In 2017, she attended her first Met Gala with her current spouse Nick Jonas by her side. After that, she went back to the gala twice more.
The Met Gala, occurring on May 6 as usual, has adopted the theme ‘The Garden of Time,’ drawing inspiration from JG Ballard’s 1962 short story. Alongside Zendaya and Jennifer, Bad Bunny and Chris Hemsworth will serve as co-chairs. Honorary chairs include Jonathan Anderson from Loewe and Shou Zi Chew, the CEO of TikTok.
