Grimsburg: Season 2 renewal announced before the premiere of the series

Fox has renewed the animated comedy series “Grimsburg,” featuring  Hollywood actor Jon Hamm, for a second season.

Michael Thorn, head of entertainment for Fox Entertainment, made the revelation during a MIPCOM panel discussion moderated by Cynthia Littleton, co-editor-in-chief of Variety.

“Grimsburg is yet another clear example of our strong commitment to, and intense focus on, upholding the high bar of standards any show must exceed in order to reside under the Animation Domination banner,” Thorn said.

“Of course, having Jon Hamm’s talent and star power front and centre is a great place to start. Equally important, everything we’re seeing with ‘Grimsburg’-from the very first scripts and show bible to animatics and preliminary cuts-makes us believe we have a winner on our hands that beautifully complements our animation brand.”

The premiere date for “Grimsburg,” according to Variety’s claims, is currently uncertain, while 2023 is the projected year of the program’s debut. The protagonist of the narrative is Marvin Flute (Hamm), who is hailed as “perhaps the greatest detective ever to catch a cannibal clown and accurately identify a mid-century modern armoire. He still hasn’t figured out his own riddle, though. He needs to return to Grimsburg, where everyone has a secret or two, and gain the respect of his fellow detectives, his violent ex-wife, and his endearingly troubled kid in order to achieve this.”

Grimsburg is the most recent Fox animated programme to receive an early Season 2 renewal, Variety reports. It joins the Dan Harmon series “Krapopolis” in receiving a renewal before its premiere. Grimsburg and Krapopolis were both produced by Fox and Bento Box, respectively. Both programmes will be introduced to international programme buyers at MIPCOM Cannes by Fox Entertainment Global, the organisation that buys content for FOX.

Catlan McClelland and Matthew Schlissel, who also serve as co-executive producers, are the authors of “Grimsburg.” Chadd Gindin is the executive producer and showrunner. Hamm not only acts but also executive produces. Gail Berman and Hend Baghdady of The Jackal Group executive produce with Connie Tavel. Bento Box is the studio.
