Rapper King, known for his collaboration with Nick Jonas on “Maan Meri Jaan,” made history as the first Indian pop singer to walk the Cannes red carpet. A video of King discussing his outfit with Brut India went viral, attracting trolls over his accent.

On Sunday, Rapper King shared the video on social media, humorously acknowledging his accent. The text on the video read,

“Bahar se padhke aayi farratta angreji bolti woh…usko impress karne ke liye sarkaari school ka ladka main (Foreign returned girl speaking fluent English, me who studied at a government school trying to impress her),” while the caption stated, “jab atti nahi to accent hi nikalta hai desh se bahar…iykyk par mazaa a agaya bkc naacho!! (When you can’t speak English, you develop an accent outside the country).”

I am representing our music right now and I think it’s a great time to be here.” Since its release on May 19, the video has garnered over 1.8 million views, with many users flooding the comment section. One user remarked, “bro trolled himself before people. Good move par meme to banaunga phir bhi,” while another commented, “Just make a meme and cover your mistakes (I also do it).”
