Madonna Makes Waves: 1.6 Million Fans Rock Rio On Tour Finale

Madonna concluded her tour with a complimentary concert at Copacabana Beach in Rio de Janeiro, attracting approximately 1.6 million fans, as reported by Deadline.

The performance signaled the end of her retrospective tour, commemorating her four decades in pop music, which she has been touring worldwide since October of the previous year.

Madonna began the concert with her 1998 hit “Nothing Really Matters” and thrilled the audience with renditions of her timeless classics such as “Like a Virgin,” “Hung Up,” and “Like a Prayer.” Brazilian artists Anitta and Pabllo Vittar also made special appearances onstage with her.

Rio’s tourism agency estimated that around 1.6 million people congregated on the renowned city beach for the concert, which has been the site of significant events previously. In 2006, the Rolling Stones entertained 1.2 million fans at the same location, while Rod Stewart established a record for the largest free rock concert ever in 1994, drawing 4 million attendees (although some might have been attracted by the annual New Year’s Eve fireworks). Madonna’s previous largest live concert audience was 130,000 fans in Paris in 1987.
