I am working on few music collaborations: Lizaa Malik

Full of life and poised is what defines Lizaa Malik. The young TV actor made her Bollywood debut with movie Torbaaz, carving a niche for herself in the world of entertainment. Lizaa has featured in TV shows like Comedy Classes, Comedy Circus, Bhaag Bakool Bhaag, and Dancing Queen.

She walked down the aisle with Beau Saurabh Pathak in a beautiful ceremony some time ago and is now excited to pick up her career right where she left off. In a candid conversation the stunning actress gives an insight about her journey in the film industry and her upcoming musical projects.

Q. Please give a brief description about your journey in the film industry and how did you begin your journey?

A. I never had anybody from this background. I always had the inclination towards music and dance so my first dancing reality show was Boogie Woogie when I was in ninth standard. I won the title and I used to be very active in theatre. I graduated from Delhi University and when I became Miss Delhi in 2004 that’s where I realized that I can take this graph as a career also. I was already a poster girl in Delhi and then my first song ‘Saiyan Jhuthon Ka Bada Sartaz’ came. Akriti Kakkad gave the vocals and it was a super hit and then I realized that stage shows was a part and parcel of the music industry. Mika pursued me to sing. My first TV Serial happened with Vikram Bhatt.

Q. You have also acted in a film called Torbaaz. Please tell about your experience working with actor Sanjay Dutt and Rahul Dev?

A. Everyone knows about Sanjay Dutt that he is a great actor. There was lot of rumours going on around Sanju sir during his entire career. People close to him love him so much and I realized it when I was in the set of Torbaaz. He is one of the finest human being I have met. I was the only girl left in the entire schedule as Nargis Fakhri did couple of days of shoot and left. He started calling me Beta and what I liked about him is he actually felt that for me and not that I was supposed to be protected by anybody as everyone was like a family on the set but because he felt that I was a kid he used to drop me during late night shoot so that part of Sanjay Dutt that he is a great guardian and a father may be not a lot of people know that but I have experienced it during the span of two months schedule and I am going to cherish that for lifetime. Rahul sir is a pure soul and a great human being.

Q. What was your role in Torbaaz?

A. I was not very happy with the overall outcome of the movie. The character that I played Hazra she was one of the prime characters of the film. I played the role of an Afghani refugee girl. The makers had to make my skin look poor as the character was in a refugee camp. There were 6 to 7 prime characters in the movie and I don’t know why the makers were partial towards Hazra.

Q. Please give a brief description about your upcoming musical collaborations?

A. I am working on a few music collaborations. One with singer Ashok Masti the famous kadke glass singer and the other is recreation of an old song. The song will release in end of July.
