In the wake of the recent terrorist attack in Poonch that claimed the lives of four soldiers, Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha asserted that the people of Jammu and Kashmir cannot be intimidated by a small group of terrorists. Addressing an event on Veer Bal Diwas, he emphasized the need for societal unity against those attempting to disrupt peace in the Union Territory. Sinha called for the elimination of terrorism and its support ecosystem while expressing confidence in the region’s progress under the leadership of Prime Minister Modi.
Speaking at the event, LG Sinha declared, “Just 20–25 terrorists cannot scare the people of Jammu and Kashmir. Society needs to stand together against such people.” He urged the nation to resolve to bring peace and development to the region, emphasizing the collective responsibility to stand against anarchic elements.
In the aftermath of the December 21 terrorist attack on two Army vehicles in Poonch, which resulted in the loss of four soldiers, Sinha reiterated the resilience of the people in the face of such threats. He stressed the importance of eliminating terrorism and its entire support structure for lasting peace.
LG Sinha paid homage to the Sahibzades, the four sons of Guru Gobind Singh Ji, on the occasion of Veer Bal Diwas. Describing them as the epitome of courage, bravery, and sacrifice, he acknowledged their unwavering dedication to faith and values. The day, announced by Prime Minister Narendra Modi last year, honors the sacrifices of Sahibzade, marking December 26 as ‘Veer Bal Diwas.’
