Supreme Court Collegium Recommended Appointment Of Judicial Officer From Arunachal Pradesh As The Judge Of Gauhati High Court

The Supreme Court Collegium recommended the appointment of Arunachal Pradesh judicial officer Budi Habung as the judge of the Gauhati High Court.
the Supreme Court Collegium bench comprising of CJI DY Chandrachud, Justices SK Kaul and Sanjiv Khanna in the case observed and has noted that Habung being the senior most judicial officer in Arunachal Pradesh.
The Supreme Court Collegium noted that the name of Budi Habung was recommended by the High Court Collegium on April 26 to fill up the sole service post allocated to the State of Arunachal Pradesh in the Gauhati High Court.
At present, the Gauhati High Court has 24 judges out of the sanctioned strength of 30.
