SC Collegium Recommended Appointment Of A Judicial Officer And Two Advocates As Judges Madhya Pradesh High Court

The Supreme Court Collegium recommended the appointment of Ramkumar Choubey, Judicial Officer as the Judge of the Madhya Pradesh High Court. The Supreme Court Collegium also recommended the appointment of S/Shri (i) Deepak Khot and (ii) Pavan Kumar Dwivedi@ Pavan Dwivedi, Advocates, for appointment as Judges of the Madhya Pradesh High Court.

The Supreme Court Collegium bench comprising of Chief Justice DY Chandrachud, and Justice Sanjiv Khanna and Justice BR Gavai has passed the resolution which reveals that the recommendation made for the appointment of the judicial officer was made by the Collegium of the High Court on May 11, 2023 and August 09. 2023. The Collegium of High Court made the recommendations of two advocates on November 11, 2022.

the Supreme Court Collegium scrutinized and evaluated the material placed on record on October 17, 2023. In terms of the Memorandum of Procedure, the Judges of the Supreme Court conversant with the affairs of the Madhya Pradesh High Court were consulted in order to ascertain the fitness and suitability of the candidate. Therefore, the Chief Minister and the Governor of the State of Madhya Pradesh conveyed their concurrence to the said recommendation.
