Kerala High Court Granted More Time To Ex-Govt Pleader To Surrender In Sexual Assault Case

The Kerala High Court in the case PG Manu v. State of Kerala observed and has extended the time granted to former Senior Government Pleader P.G. Manu to surrender in an alleged sexual assault case involving a female client.

The single bench headed by Justice Gopinath P in the case observed and has granted him 10 more days to surrender to the Police.

The court in the case observed that Manu has resigned from his post as Senior Government Pleader following allegations of raping the woman victim who had approached him for legal advice.

However, it being the case of him that the prosecution allegations are false and the registration of the case is a ‘calculated attempt’ on the part of his professional rivalries. The court in the case noted that the former Senior Government Pleader has moved the Supreme Court against its order rejecting his plea for anticipatory. The court directed him to surrender before the investigating officer within a period of ten days from December 22, 2023.

The bench of Justice Gopinath in the case observed and has made it clear that no further extension of time will be granted to him under any circumstances. The present petition has been moved through Advocates C.P. Udayabhanu, P Vijaya Bhanu, Navaneeth N. Nath, Rassal Janardhanan A., Abhishek M. Kunnathu, Boban Palat, P.U. Pratheesh Kumar, P.R. Ajay, K.U. Swapnil, Nikita Mendez and Sruthy Bhat.
