Justice Shree Chandrashekhar Appointed As Acting Chief Justice Of Jharkhand High Court

The notification has been issued by the Ministry of Law and Justice has appointment of Justice Shree Chandrashekhar as the Acting Chief Justice of the Jharkhand High Court.
The Notification issued by the Ministry of Law and Justice stated that in exercise of the powers conferred by Article 223 of the Constitution of India the President is pleased to appoint Shri Justice Shree Chandrashekhar, the Judge of the Jharkhand High Court, to perform the duties of the office of the Chief Justice of Jharkhand High Court with effect from December 29, 2023, which being consequent upon the retirement of Shree Justice Sanjaya Kumar Mishra, Chief Justice of Jharkhand High Court on December 28, 2023.
The appointment made follows the retirement of Chief Justice Sanjaya Kumar Mishra, who will be serving as the Chief Justice of the Jharkhand High Court until December 28, 2023. Justice Shree Chandrashekhar was born on May 25, 1965 and completed his LL.B. course from Campus Law Centre, University of Delhi, in the year 1993 and was being enrolled as an Advocate with the Delhi State Bar Council on December 09, 1993. Justice Shree Chandrashekhar practiced both Criminal and Civil law in Delhi. Justice Shree Chandrashekhar handled approximately 3500 cases, primarily in the Supreme Court of India, with around 140 reported judgments wherein he appeared as the counsel. The bench of Justice Shree Chandrashekhar served as the standing Counsel for All India Council for Technical Education and the State of Jharkhand in the Supreme Court. Justice Shree Chandrashekhar also represented the entities such as Bihar State Housing Board, Bihar State Pollution Control Board, Jharkhand State Electricity Board, Indian Council of Agricultural Research, and various other Corporations and Institutes. He was also the retained counsel for private companies. Justice Shree Chandrashekhar judicial journey began with his appointment as an Additional Judge of the High Court of Jharkhand, Ranchi, on January 17, 2013 and recognizing the contribution of him and the capabilities, he was subsequently appointed as a permanent Judge of the High Court of Jharkhand, Ranchi, on June 27, 2014.
