Delhi High Court Remanded Three Accused Lawyers To Four Days Police Custody; Tis Hazari Firing Incident

The Delhi High Court in the case observed and has remanded three lawyers, who are accused in firing incident at Tis Hazari Court, to four days of police custody.
An FIR was registered with regards to the offences stated under section 147, section 148, section 149, section 307 and section 34 of Indian Penal Code, 1860 and sections 25 and 27 of Arms Act. Therefore, Advocate Sachin Sangwan, Advocate Aman Singh and Ravi Gupta were arrested.
The bench headed by Metropolitan Magistrate Chatinder Singh in its order stated that four days PC is granted. It has been directed by the court that the investigating agency, the Delhi Police that no accused be subjected to any torture during police custody.
The court in the case observed and has handed their custody to the concerned Investigating Officer. Therefore, the court directed that the medical examination of all three accused be done as per the relevant rules.
Adding to it, the court stated that all the guidelines of Hon’ble Apex Court be complied with.
The Bar Council of Delhi in the case took the suo-moto cognizance of the firing incident and the court also suspended the license of a lawyer who was identified in a video that got viral on the social media.
Therefore, the court issued another notice and the lawyers’ body suspended license of another lawyer who has been identified.
Accordingly, the court listed the matter for further consideration for July 10, 2023.
