The Delhi High Court in the case observed and has directed YouTube to remove any fake news about Aaradhya Bachchan, the granddaughter of Amitabh Bachchan from its social platform.
The court in the said case also stated that such fake news should not be shared in the future either.
Aaradhya Bachchan, the 11-year-old daughter of Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Abhishek Bachchan moved the high court on Wednesday against a YouTube tabloid wherein reporting ‘fake news’ about the health of Aaradhya Bachchan.
The High Court in the case observed and has pulled up the video sharing platform for spreading fake news and has also asked weather the same does not have any policies to ensure that such misleading content is not posted. Thus, it has also been informed by the Delhi High Court to the YouTube that it is not enough to just say that users have been given a platform and that it is not responsible for what is being put on there.
In the present case, the court also summoned Google and all the YouTube platforms which were made parties in the petition filed and has asked whether they had changed their policy according to the amendment in the IT rules. The court while expressing objection to the YouTube video stated that every child has the right to live with respect and dignity and it is the platform’s responsibility to stop such kind of fake news.
