CM approves Rs 34 crore to tackle water shortage in nine villages

Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar has approved Rs.34 crore to formulate a scheme to resolve the water crisis in nine Haryana villages, including Nizampur in the Mahendragarh district.

Over ten water storage tanks are to be constructed in the region by forming two groups of four and five villages and connecting them to the Dharchula Minor and Hasanpur distributaries. Through these tanks, water will also be made available to farmers via pipelines, Khattar announced while addressing residents of Nizampur village at the Jan Samvad programme on Wednesday. The CM laid the foundation for three projects totalling Rs. 16.11 crore. These include the Dholera bypass to be constructed at a cost of Rs 346.81 lakh, micro-irrigation projects in Bigopur, Dholera, Khawajpur and Iqbalpur Nangli and Nehru Nagar costing a total of Rs 1,265 lakh.

The construction of the Dholera Bypass was a long-standing requirement, the completion of which will increase the area’s road infrastructure network. Similarly, micro-irrigation projects will help farmers as well as encourage water conservation, Khattar said in his address. The Chief Minister said that the present state government has worked hard over the last eight and a half years to ensure that water reaches every village in Haryana.
