The Rouse Avenue Court in Delhi has granted the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) additional time to file a supplementary charge sheet in the alleged land-for-a-job scam. Misa Bharti, daughter of Lalu Prasad Yadav, was present at the hearing. Special judge Geetanjali Goel expressed dissatisfaction with the CBI for continuously delaying the matter and urged them to expedite. The court set the next date of hearing for July 12. Earlier, Rabri Devi, former Chief Minister of Bihar, and Misa Bharti, an RJD MP, also attended the court proceedings. Lalu Prasad Yadav, former Union Railway Minister, was exempted from appearing in court due to medical reasons. On March 15, the same court granted regular bail to Lalu Prasad Yadav, Rabri Devi, Misa Bharti, and other accused in the alleged Land-for-Job scam case.

According to the chargesheet filed by the CBI in relation to the alleged land-for-job scam, it has been stated that the Central Railway made irregular appointments of candidates, disregarding the established norms and procedures of Indian Railways for recruitment. As part of a quid-pro-quo arrangement, the candidates or their immediate relatives/family members allegedly sold land to the family members of Lalu Prasad Yadav, who was the Union Railway Minister at the time, at significantly discounted rates ranging from 1/4th to 1/5th of the prevailing market rates, as per the CBI.
