The Ladakh Tourism Pavilion emerged victorious, clinching the prestigious Best Design & Decoration Award at OTM 2024. The award was presented by Diya Kumari, Deputy Chief Minister & Tourism Minister of Rajasthan, during the award ceremony held on the third day of the travel trade fair at the Jio Convention Center, Mumbai. Diya Kumari also took the opportunity to visit the Ladakh Tourism Pavilion, engaging with tourism officials and co-exhibitors present at the event.

The Ladakh Pavilion garnered an enthusiastic response from both national and international travel trade fraternity as well as visitors throughout the duration of OTM 2024.
As part of its comprehensive tourism promotion initiatives, Ladakh Tourism, along with its official delegation and over 30 co-exhibitors, participated in the travel extravaganza, attracting thousands of tourists, holidaymakers, travel trade buyers, and tour-organizing professionals to the Ladakh pavilion.

The Ladakh Pavilion saw hundreds of members from the travel trade fraternity representing various states, UTs, and foreign countries, who interacted with the official delegation and co-exhibitors. These interactions included presentations, screenings of short films showcasing known and off-beat destinations of Ladakh, and discussions on sustainable inbound and outbound travel.

On February 9th, Kacho Mehboob Ali Khan, Commissioner/Secretary of the Tourism Department, participated as a special guest in a session themed “Bringing Global Destinations to Indian Cinema.” This session facilitated discussions between production houses of Indian Cinema and tourism officials from India and abroad, focusing on streamlining permissions for shooting processes to boost film tourism.

Following the event, the Commissioner/Secretary (Tourism) held a review meeting in Delhi with the GM of ITDC regarding the finalization of the Audio-Video presentation for the light and sound show projects at Leh Palace, Leh, and Suru River Front, Biamathang, Kargil. Emphasizing adherence to timelines, the Commissioner/Secretary urged ITDC to complete the projects before the onset of the tourist season in Ladakh, receiving assurances from the GM that the projects will be completed as per schedule.

Additionally, the Commissioner/Secretary is currently attending the 58th Conference of Chief Inspectors of Factories in Bhubaneswar, organized by the Ministry of Labour and Labour Department, Government of Orissa. Discussions during the conference focused on framing Rules following the implementation of Labour Codes, with actions required at both the State/UT and Ministry levels being deliberated upon in preparation for the forthcoming implementation of these Codes.
