Bollywood actress Kriti Sanon has come to the defense of the Hindi film industry following comments made by entrepreneur Nikhil Kamath. In his recent podcast, Kamath suggested that Bollywood is no longer thriving as it once did. Kriti Sanon has challenged this perspective, highlighting the industry’s resilience and resurgence.

Sanon’s Response to Kamath

Nikhil Kamath had pointed out that Bollywood’s success has waned and that the industry no longer employs as many people as it used to. Kriti Sanon disagrees with this view. She pointed out that while the industry faced a tough phase, it is now experiencing a strong comeback. Citing her own films like “Crew” and “Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya,” Sanon emphasized that expectations from cinema have shifted significantly.

“Earlier, if a film earned ₹100 crore, it was considered a major achievement. Now, ₹100 crore is just the beginning. The expectations have evolved,” Sanon explained. She added that despite a previous period of struggle, Bollywood is thriving again with a vibrant theater scene.

Badshah’s Support

Rapper and singer Badshah, who was also a guest on the podcast, supported Sanon’s viewpoint. He reflected on how the industry has learned from past challenges and is now flourishing. His agreement underscores a broader recognition of Bollywood’s adaptability and success.

Kriti Sanon’s Acting Career

Kriti Sanon began her acting career with the Telugu film “Nennokadine” (2014) before making her Bollywood debut with “Heropanti” (2014) alongside Tiger Shroff. She has since starred in a variety of successful films, including “Dilwale,” “Raabta,” “Bareilly Ki Barfi,” “Luka Chuppi,” “Mimi,” “Bhediya,” “Shehzada,” “Adipurush,” and “Ganapath.” Her recent films, “Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya” and “Crew,” were well-received commercially.

Upcoming Projects

Looking ahead, Kriti Sanon is set to appear in “Do Patti,” a mystery crime-thriller directed by Shashanka Chaturvedi. The film also stars Kajol, Shaheer Sheikh, and Tanvi Azmi. Written by Kanika Dhillon, “Do Patti” will be the first production from Sanon and Dhillon’s newly established banners, Blue Butterfly Films and Kathha Pictures. The release date for the film is yet to be announced, but it will be available for streaming on Netflix.

Sanon’s remarks and her upcoming projects underscore the evolving landscape of Bollywood and its ongoing success despite challenges.
