“Kashi is Avimukta, a city never forsaken by Lord Shiva. According to mythology, it was at this place where the Lingam of Lord Shiva was first established and worshipped on Earth as the symbol of His perpetual presence.
Additionally, according to mythology, wherever Lord Shiva stepped in Kashi, a Shiv Lingodhbhav occurred. This means that wherever you dig in Kashi, you will find a Shiv Linga. Each Shiv Linga has its own story and significance. To name a few examples, Vishnu Linga, Brahma Linga, and Three Crore Deity Lingas have emerged from this sacred city of Varanasi.
