South and Southeast Rajasthan are about to receive a significant gift from Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla’s efforts. Birla and Union Minister V. Muraleedharan will inaugurate the state’s second passport office located on Road Number 2 in the industrial area in Kota on Friday. This will initiate the process of issuing passports in Kota.
During his first term as a Member of Parliament, Om Birla inaugurated the Post Office Passport Seva Kendra at Nayapura Post Office. This started the process of accepting passport applications in Kota. Full-fledged passport offices were not available here, and passports were issued from Jaipur, which took a considerable amount of time. Additionally, the facility for immediate passport issuance was not available here.
Right from the beginning of his second term, Om Birla had initiated efforts to establish a full-fledged passport office in Kota. His efforts led to the Ministry of External Affairs approving the opening of the state’s second and the country’s 37th passport office in Kota, following Jaipur. Now, after the inauguration on Friday at 11 a.m., passports will be issued at the local level. After the inauguration event, Om Birla and Minister Muraleedharan will address a gathering at the Career Point Auditorium. Lok Sabha Speaker is in Kota for a six-day visit. He is also listening to people’s problems at his camp office and providing solutions.
Passports can now be issued immediately in Kota. There will be a significant reduction in the time taken for issuing regular passports. The availability of senior and capable officials at the local level will allow for immediate problem resolution. The passport issuance process will be simple and fast.
Due to the presence of a full-fledged passport office, people from Bundi, Baran, Jhalawar, Sawai Madhopur, Chittorgarh, Bhilwara, Udaipur, Pratapgarh, Dungarpur, Rajsamand, Banswara, and the newly formed Shahpura, Gangapur City, and Salumber districts will benefit in Kota. Earlier, citizens from these districts had to go to Jaipur to obtain passports. The reduced distance to Kota will save time and resources for these residents.
