Dr Kirori Lal Meena, the Agriculture and Horticulture Minister, chaired a meeting at Pant Krishi Bhawan, bringing together officials from the Agriculture and Horticulture Department, Seed Certification Agency, and Rajasthan State Seed Corporation on Tuesday. The minister gathered information on centrally sponsored schemes, farm pond initiatives, irrigation pipelines, seed production, millet promotion, and fencing from department officials.
During the meeting, the Agriculture and Horticulture Minister approved the restructuring of posts in the Engineering Cadre of the Alliance of New Districts in the Watershed Development and Soil Conservation Department.
The restructuring includes 20 posts of Chief Engineer and Additional Director, 57 posts of Superintending Engineer/Joint Director, 190 posts of Executive Engineer/Deputy Director, and 581 posts of Assistant Engineer.
Dr. Kirori Lal Meena highlighted the importance of the 100-day action plans outlined in the resolution letter. The plans involve assessing crop losses worth Rs 1,000 crore and distributing relief amounts under the Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana.
Additionally, 500 custom hiring centres will be established, and 5 thousand solar pumps will be installed under PM Kusum Yojana to facilitate tube well operations using solar energy. Measures such as installing drip and mini sprinklers on 27 thousand hectares and sprinklers on 54 thousand hectares will also be implemented.
The minister emphasized the commitment of officers and employees to achieving 100% fulfilment of the tasks outlined in the resolution letter, urging them to work with dedication and honesty.
Dr Meena instructed officials to adopt innovative approaches in agriculture to increase farmers’ income and promote organic farming. Special camps will be organized to raise awareness among farmers.
