Dr Kirodi Lal Meena, the Rural Development Minister, addressed the Assembly on Tuesday regarding the surge in fake applications under the Shubh Shakti Yojana, aimed at empowering girls. Minister Meena highlighted the ongoing verification process due to the substantial number of fraudulent applications. He assured that the benefits would be extended to genuine beneficiaries once the verification process concludes.
Responding to supplementary questions during the Question Hour, Minister Meena shared that over the past 5 years, the Labor Department received 32.63 lakh applications across 13 schemes. Specifically, the Shubh Shakti Yojana garnered 2.46 lakh applications, resulting in complaints. As of 2022, 2.28 lakh pending applications are undergoing verification, with approximately 92 thousand identified as fraudulent during the process.
In response to MLA Chhagan Singh Rajpurohit’s original question, Minister Meena provided details of schemes implemented for construction workers registered with the Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board.
