The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has appointed Kiran Singh Dev as the State President for Chhattisgarh, according to a notice issued by the party’s national general secretary, Arun Sao. The appointment of Kiran Singh Dev as the Chhattisgarh party president is effective immediately.

Kiran Singh Dev recently secured victory from the Jagdalpur assembly constituency, defeating Congress’s Jateen Jaiswal by a margin of 29,834 votes. Beginning his political career as part of the Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM), Kiran Singh Dev’s victory in Jagdalpur, the only ‘unreserved’ seat in the Bastar region, has earned him the responsibility of leading the party in Chhattisgarh.

This appointment comes as Kiran Singh Dev replaces Arun Sao, who was sworn in as the Deputy Chief Minister of Chhattisgarh. Alongside Sao, Vijay Sharma also took the oath as the Deputy Chief Minister.

In the recent assembly polls in Chhattisgarh, the BJP secured victory in 54 out of the 90 constituencies, while the Congress’s tally was reduced to 35. Kiran Singh Dev’s appointment reflects the party’s strategy and leadership decisions in the state following the election results.
