Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge has unveiled the ‘Black Paper,’ highlighting what the party claims are ‘failures’ during the 10-year rule of the BJP government at the Centre.

This move comes as the central government prepares to present a ‘White Paper’ illustrating the alleged economic challenges faced during the Congress-led UPA regime.

Kharge stated that the Black Paper addresses BJP government failures, particularly in terms of unemployment, and aims to counter the government’s self-glorification in Parliament.

He criticized Prime Minister Modi’s recent address, highlighting omissions regarding employment generated by public sectors like HAL and BHEL.

Kharge also accused the Centre of discrimination against non-BJP ruled states, expressing concerns about the state of democracy in the country.

Union Minister Arjun Ram Meghwal announced a discussion on the White Paper in Lok Sabha, emphasizing the need to inform about the economic situation inherited from the Congress in 2014.

Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, during the interim budget presentation, had announced the intention to release a White Paper for a comparative analysis of economic performance between the UPA and NDA governments.
