The Registrar General of the Kerala High Court in the case observed and has directed the Director, Services of the Lakshadweep Administration in order to send back the District and Sessions Anil Kumar K, Judge of Kavaratti to the Kerala Judicial Services. However, Judge, Anil Kumar K was facing a sexual harassment complaint which is being filed by a woman lawyer.
The Judge, Anil Kumar K, who is currently serving as the judge of District and Sessions of Kavaratti and he is to be posted as Additional District and Sessions Judge or the Motor Accident Claims Tribunal, Pala due to the ‘administrative exigency’, the letter which is issued by the Registrar General to the Director, Services of the Lakshadweep Administration stated. It has also been directed to the Lakshadweep Administration for taking urgent steps to issue orders in this regard.
As per the reports, the complaint is filed by one female lawyer with the Registrar General wherein it is alleged that the district judge had sexually harassed her. It was also being alleged by her that he promised verdicts which being in favour of the complainant as long as she did not disclose details of the incident.
While following the complaint, the protest was made against the judge by the local bar association.
