A University of Kerala professor has garnered attention after delivering an unexpected dance performance at a Freshers Party. Vineeth VC, the Head of Department (HOD) for B.Com at Sanatana Dharma College in Alappuzha, joined a group of first-year girls on stage, elevating the event’s energy to new heights.
Amal V Nath, a student from the college, shared a video on social media showing the professor jumping out of his seat and joining the dance. The clip, which has amassed over three million views on Instagram, captures Vineeth turning to acknowledge the crowd before hopping on stage. The caption read, “When your HOD matches your vibe,” perfectly capturing the moment.

It appears the professor’s appearance wasn’t entirely unplanned; the choreography, set to the hit Tamil song ‘Manasilaayo’ from Rajinikanth’s film ‘Vettaiyan’, may have been kept a surprise. Vineeth’s performance captivated the audience, with both students and teachers cheering him on, even drawing attention away from the 10 girls dancing with him.
The video went viral on Instagram, with users commenting on the fun and energy. One user remarked, “Where can I find this kind of HODs?” while another wrote, “Wow. This kind of dance is actually very cool. Nothing suggestive at all, unlike what some IIT-IIM students have had to offer.”
This isn’t the first time a faculty member from Kerala has gone viral for their dance performance. Earlier, Arunima Devasish, an assistant professor at St Teresa’s College in Ernakulam, also gained widespread attention for her dance to ‘Kaala Chashma’, earning the title of “Coolest Teacher.”
