In the second episode of Kaun Banega Crorepati Season 16 (KBC), contestant Dipali Soni made headlines after opting to quit the game despite being just one question away from winning ₹12.5 lakh. Appearing on the hot seat with host Amitabh Bachchan, Soni earned ₹6.4 lakh before the 12th question, which was related to India’s largest climate clock.

The question posed by Amitabh was: “India’s largest climate clock is installed at Anusandhan Bhawan, the headquarters of which organization, to raise awareness about climate change?” The options were DRDO (Defence Research and Development Organisation), CSIR (Council of Scientific & Industrial Research), BARC (Bhabha Atomic Research Centre), and ISRO (Indian Space Research Organisation).

Soni, who was uncertain between DRDO and ISRO, decided to quit the game rather than risk her current winnings. After withdrawing, Amitabh asked her to guess the answer, and she chose DRDO. However, the correct answer was CSIR.

Amitabh explained to Soni that the climate clock, which is located at the CSIR headquarters, serves as a reminder of the urgency to protect our planet and the importance of time in this mission.

The show, which airs on Sony Entertainment Television from August 12, continues to engage viewers with its mix of challenging questions and emotional stories. Amitabh Bachchan recently shared on his blog how the show provides contestants with a significant platform, not only to win substantial prizes but also to share their personal journeys. He highlighted the profound emotions that contestants experience when recounting their struggles and successes, adding a unique depth to the game show.
