Officials reported that a teenager lost his life when the car he was in plunged into a canal in Mandya, Karnataka, on Tuesday. The victim, identified as Nandish (19), hailed from Doddabyadarahalli village.
“The car fell into the canal. One person in the car died on the spot, another was seriously injured. The incident happened near Avverahalli village of Mandya taluk,” police said.
As per police reports, the car veered out of control and plunged from the bridge into the dry canal. Meanwhile, the injured individual has been hospitalized for treatment, and the deceased’s body has been transferred to the Mandya Institute of Medical Sciences Mortuary.
Further investigation is underway.
Earlier today, six individuals lost their lives, and ten others sustained injuries when a truck collided with a wedding procession in Madhya Pradesh’s Raisen district, as per police statements. Officials stated that the procession was en route to Khamaria village in Raisen on Monday evening when the truck crashed into it, resulting in the immediate death of four individuals. Two additional casualties occurred during medical treatment.
