In the run-up to the keenly contested Karnataka election, the Bharatiya Janata Party hopes to build on the popularity of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the party’s most visible face. “We hope PM Modi holds 15-20 rallies in Karnataka before the May 10 elections,” stated a senior BJP leader.
The BJP, which currently governs Karnataka and hopes to reclaim power, will pitch for development under the “double-engine government.”
