Bandra police have issued summons for the third time to actress Kangana Ranaut and her sister Rangoli to appear before them for inquiries in connection with a case about objectionable social media posts. The sisters have failed to appear so far.
Kangana and Rangoli were earlier asked to be present on 26 and 27 October respectively but they failed to appear. They were later asked to appear on 9 and 10 November but they did not do so again.
Kangana had informed police that she was busy with a wedding in the family and would be available after 15 November.
The Bandra metropolitan magistrate›s court last month ordered the police to investigate a complaint filed by Bollywood casting director and fitness trainer Munawwar Ali Sayyed, referring to the tweets and other statements of the actress and her sister.
The police subsequently registered an FIR against Kangana and her sister under various sections of the law, such as promoting enmity between different groups on grounds of religion, race, deliberate acts of hurting religious sentiments, sedition, and also asked them to appear before the police.
