The Simpsons panel at San Diego Comic-Con concluded with a surprising twist as an old video of Kamala Harris resurfaced. In the clip, Harris humorously recites a memorable quote from the ‘Treehouse of Horror VII’ episode, thrilling fans of the long-running show. The video, revealed by The Simpsons creator Matt Groening, was part of a project by Chicago students who had asked politicians to quote the series.

During the panel, Groening introduced the clip, describing it as coming from a “super fan.” In the footage, Harris, who was Vice President at the time, quotes, “We must move forward, not backward; upward, not forward; and always twirling, twirling, twirling towards freedom,” a line from the 1996 episode, as reported by the Hollywood Reporter.

Harris’s playful nod to ‘The Simpsons’ has stirred excitement, highlighting her ability to engage with pop culture and connect with various audiences. As discussions about her potential presidential bid continue, this reference has rekindled debate among fans about ‘The Simpsons’ predictions.

Social media users have drawn parallels between Harris and Lisa Simpson from a 2000 episode titled “Bart to the Future,” where Lisa is portrayed as the first female president. Observant fans noted similarities between Harris and Lisa’s characteristics, especially after President Biden endorsed his VP to run for the upcoming presidential election. The 2000 episode featured President Lisa Simpson addressing the fallout from “President Trump’s” presidency.
