In response, several users noted discrepancies in their own search results. They pointed out that Google might offer personalized results influenced by various factors.
Reactions To Musk’s Post:
“I just tested it…That’s actually not true….BUT I’m in Europe at the moment,” said one user.
“X is built like an inverted pyramid of pro-MAGA propaganda where Elon is pharaoh and folks can share his worldview and he will promote and reward them with ad-rev share and/or subscriptions or traffic—but only because ‘there’s a leftwing media conspiracy to control the narrative,’” wrote another user.
“Elon, did you ever think that Kamala Harris may be way more popular than the old prick and weirdo Trump?” questioned another commentator.
Google’s support page explains that search results can vary due to factors like time, context, or personalized results, even if they may appear similar to others’ results.
A report by Media Research Center, a conservative media watchdog, claimed in March 2024 that Google had interfered with elections 41 times over the past 16 years. Google denied these claims, stating it has a “clear business incentive” to remain impartial and ensure accurate search results.
