As election day nears, former President Donald Trump seeks a second term, while Kamala Harris campaigns for her first. Harris pointed out that Americans want a leader who faces challenges with optimism. She also accused Trump of stripping away people’s basic freedoms.
When asked about the gender gap in polling, Harris denied seeing a significant divide. She said, “I have to be honest with you, it’s not what I see in terms of my rallies, in terms of the interactions I’m having with people in communities and on the ground.” She observed that both men and women equally express their concerns about democracy’s future. Harris stated that citizens want a president who tackles issues like grocery prices, small business investments, and homeownership.
Harris stressed her commitment to being a president for everyone. She said, “I intend to be a president for all Americans.” She also highlighted the importance of restoring women’s freedom to make decisions about their own bodies, which she claimed Trump had taken away. Additionally, Harris vowed to address economic needs and strengthen the U.S.’s global standing.
Harris called border security her “highest priority” and promised to pass a bipartisan border security bill if elected. When asked about the southern border wall, she clarified her focus on practical solutions. Harris said, “I will tell you that my highest priority is to put the resources into ensuring that our border is secure.” She plans to reintroduce the bipartisan border security bill and sign it into law.
Harris blamed Trump for blocking solutions to America’s immigration system. “Donald Trump has stood in the way of what would have been a proven part of the solution,” she said. Harris promised to fix the broken immigration system with practical, achievable solutions.
Harris will join former President Barack Obama at a rally in Georgia, where Bruce Springsteen will perform to encourage voters. She will also campaign with former First Lady Michelle Obama in Michigan. Both Barack and Michelle Obama endorsed Harris, and when asked about their support, she expressed her gratitude. “I’m honored to have them at my campaign events,” Harris said.
