The recent revelation that Hoshi and Woozi of SEVENTEEN would be launching a new subgroup has fans all over the world discussing. A South Korean media exclusive was the first to reveal the confirmation. After eight years of surprising fans with their track “Shoot Me Before You Go” from their 2017 album Teen, Age, they are the first of their kind to perform live.
This marks SEVENTEEN’s second duo subunit, the first being Jeonghan and Wonwoo’s single album This Man, released in June 2024. Known as “Soonhoon” by their fans, Hoshi and Woozi bring complementary skills to the table—Hoshi, the leader of the performance team and a choreography expert, and Woozi, a songwriting and production maestro leading the vocal team.
Hoshi makes the announcement at a frantic time when he is maintaining activities for SEVENTEEN’s subunit known as BooSeokSoon with DK and Seungkwan, who are busily getting ready for another new work scheduled in January 2025.
Since their debut in 2015 under Pledis Entertainment, SEVENTEEN has rapidly expanded into a global phenomenon through several accolades received by such self-produced music and dramatic choreography. The group made history in 2024 by headlining Lollapalooza in Germany and performing at Glastonbury Festival. They also released SEVENTEEN BEST ALBUM ‘17 IS RIGHT HERE’ earlier this year, featuring the hit track “MAESTRO.”
The synergy between Hoshi and Woozi promises an electrifying new chapter in SEVENTEEN’s journey, as fans eagerly await the duo’s unique blend of talent and creativity.
