In one of the viral messages, Kim Sae-Ron reportedly expressed frustration over Soo Hyun’s unavailability. She allegedly wrote, “Oppa, when you miss me and need me, you keep in touch with me without a problem, but when I need you, you’re always MIA. It bothers me that I can’t get in contact with you, and it’s inconvenient. If you don’t put in the effort, then I’m not seeing you anymore.” The message suggested she was considering ending the relationship.
Kim Soo Hyun Addresses the Claims
Days before these messages appeared, Kim Soo Hyun publicly addressed the controversy. He firmly denied dating Kim Sae-Ron when she was underage. “I’ll address the biggest concern—I did not date the deceased when she was a minor. We dated five years ago for about a year, long before Queen of Tears aired,” he clarified.
Soo Hyun also explained why he initially kept the relationship private. “As the lead actor of Queen of Tears, I couldn’t confirm the relationship publicly because of its potential impact on the cast and crew,” he stated. Additionally, he dismissed claims that his agency pressured Sae-Ron over her debts, emphasizing, “Aside from the fact that we were both actors, we were simply an ordinary couple who broke up over time.”
Agency’s Statement on the Relationship
His agency, Gold Medalist, also confirmed that Soo Hyun and Sae-Ron were in a relationship but only between 2019 and 2020. The agency refuted claims that their relationship began when Sae-Ron was a minor. It also clarified that the viral photo causing the controversy was taken in 2020, not in 2016, as some reports suggested.
