Renowned K-drama actors Lee Seung Gi and Lee Da In are the newest rich celebrities to move in with the wealthy South Korean celebrities who live in Hannam-dong, a prestigious neighbourhood in Seoul’s Yongsan district. The famous couple has established themselves as a prominent resident after moving into an opulent villa.

According to a January 6 report by K-media outlet E-Daily, Lee Seung Gi secured a lavish unit in Lanuvo Hannam, an exclusive villa complex within the upscale UN Village, in August 2024. He did this through a “Jeonse” agreement, a unique Korean lease system that requires a substantial deposit in exchange for living rights. The lease of the 2,750-square-foot unit on the second floor by the actor amounts to 10.5 billion KRW, which is approximately $7.2 million. It has already broken records as the most expensive real estate deal in Seoul for 2024 and 2025, since its lease is due to expire in August 2026.

Hannam-dong is still one of the favourite places for South Korea’s elite, celebrities, and business personalities. The neighbourhood has great, high-end residences like UN Village, Nine One Hannam, and Hannam The Hill. For example, BLACKPINK’s Jennie, Song Hye Kyo, and BIGBANG’s G-Dragon all live in this neighbourhood, but there are even bigger real estate investments coming from BTS members. Big-name celebrities are attracted to places like UN Village and Nine One Hannam because they can hide behind their private gates while flaunting their opulence and exclusive lifestyle.

Lee Seung Gi and Lee Da In had been living in an apartment in Samseong-dong before getting married in April 2023 and having a daughter in February 2024. The fame of the villa is boosted by their move to the highly sought-after Lanuvo Hannam, which has only four high-end homes completed in 2022. Other celebrity tenants include EXO’s Baekhyun, making it a hub for South Korea’s elite.
