BLACKPINK’s Jisoo and ‘Love Rain’ actor Seo In-guk are confirmed cast members for Netflix’s K-drama Boyfriend on Demand. The plot is based on the life of an overworked webtoon producer (Jisoo) who suddenly falls in love through a Virtual Reality Date. Seo In-guk is to play her professional rival in a work-based romance interplay. Kim Jung-shik will direct the series.

He previously co-directed Drink Now, Work Later, and No Gain, No Love. This is a prime choice in a bid to general Netflix’s attempts at expanding investment into Korean romance dramas.

BLACKPINK’s Jisoo New Drama

In the drama, Jisoo will star as Seo Mi-rae, an aspiring but obsessed Webtoon producer who finds her dull existence dramatically altered when the new boyfriend-on-demand app-a subscription-based VR dating service introduces her to exactly those seemingly perfect matches, testing whether the bounds of reality hold against technology-influenced romance.

With sound acting chops from the show Doom at Your Service, Seo In-guk will star as Park Kyeong-Nam, the successor webtoon producer, further revealing deceptions to a reader through his adventurous personality. The rivalry will, in turn, infuse warmth, tension, and comic timing into the entire project.

Kim Jung-sik, the director of the project, is an expert in weaving comedy into emotional depth. He seems equipped to deal with the biggest premise of ‘Boyfriend on Demand,’ blending high-tech assumptions with refreshing stories, making it among the most awaited titles among fans of K-dramas.

Netflix has unwrapped its 2025 plan lately, back to reveal its commitment towards Korean-facing content. ‘Boyfriend on Demand’ aligns with the mission statement after numerous runaway hits of romantic dramas that have rung resounding good reviews through audiences worldwide. The project is to facilitate Jisoo, very much ready to kick off Newtopia (2025), a gripping yet emotional piece.
