The report prepared by the committee appointed by Justice Sandeep Shinde (Retired) to examine the necessary evidence for the registration of Maratha-Kunbi, Kunbi-Maratha caste in the state and determine the procedure for issuing certificates was submitted to the state government on Monday.
The program was held in the Cabinet Room on the premises of Vidhan Bhavan. CM Eknath Shinde, Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar, Higher and Technical Education Minister Chandrakant Patil, Revenue Minister Radhakrishna Vikhe Patil, Rural Development and Tourism Minister Girish Mahajan, Public Works Minister Dadaji Bhuse, State Excise Minister Shambhuraj Desai, Relief and Rehabilitation Minister Anil Patil, MLA Bharat Gogawle, State Chief Secretary Manoj Saunik, Secretary of Social Justice and Special Assistance Department Dr. Sumant Bhange and others were present.
The first report of the Shinde committee was accepted in the state cabinet meeting on October 31. Then The Shinde Committee submitted its second report on Monday.
Chief Minister Mr. Shinde said that , “The Kunbi-Maratha and Maratha-Kunbi castes in the state should be identified and appointed to determine the method of issuing certificates. The Shinde committee has done the work intended for the state government. This committee has done excellent work by checking records across the state including Marathwada. Action will be taken according to the report submitted by this committee”. Secretary of Social Justice Department Dr. Bhange informed about the work done by the committee so far.
