Sikander and Yogesh Dhanda of Haryana began their junior boys’ national championships campaign with identical 5-0 victories, while Vansh advanced to the next round following a hard-fought 3-2 victory on day two in Itanagar, Arunachal Pradesh.

According to a press release from the Boxing Federation of India (BFI), Sikander began the day in the 48kg category against Harshit Gahlot of Delhi and appeared to be in command from the first round.

Harshit had no answers for Sikander’s powerful blows, and he easily won by unanimous decision. Yogesh (57kg) used comparable power and precision to sail into the next round with a 5-0 win over Akash V of Karnataka.

In contrast to the first two results, Vansh (50kg) had to work extremely hard to defeat Rajasthan’s Manish Gurjar. Both boxers started the match aggressively and traded blows, but as the match went, Vansh took control and won by a score of 3-2.

In the 48kg division, Divash Katare of SSCB controlled his match against Anjin Anu Thomas of Kerala from the start, prompting the referee to call a timeout (RSC) in the first round.

Ishwinder Singh (66kg) and Sahil Jethi (48kg) of Punjab both won 5-0 over Manteg Singh of Chandigarh and Soyam Malick of Bengal. Both boxers easily outclassed their opponents and left no room for a comeback to secure a victory.
