June 17 Bank Holiday: Closure for Bakra-Eid Across India; Check Affected Services
According to the Reserve Bank of India’s holiday calendar for 2024, most commercial banks, including both public and private sectors, will be closed on Monday, June 17, for Bakrid (Eid al-Adha). However, online banking services such as net banking, mobile banking, and UPI will remain operational. The closure will impact services like cash deposits, withdrawals, and check clearance.

Bank Schedule:

  • Saturday, June 15: Most banks will be open with all services available. However, banks in Aizawl and Bhubaneswar may be closed due to local holidays.
  • Sunday, June 16: Regular holiday.
  • Monday, June 17: All banks across the country will be closed for Bakrid.
  • Tuesday, June 18: Additional Bakrid holiday for banks in Jammu and Srinagar only.

Please note that this schedule is general and there may be regional variations. It is advisable to check with your local bank branch for confirmation. Plan your banking transactions accordingly to avoid inconvenience during the holiday period.

Stock Market Closure:

The New York Stock Exchange and the Bahrain Stock Exchange will also be closed on Monday, June 17, for Bakrid. According to the BSE website, the Equity Sector, Equity Derivatives Sector, and SLB Sector will be closed on June 17 as well. The Indian stock market will resume trading on June 18, as per the BSE and NSE website.
