Union Law Minister Arjun Ram Meghwal reiterated on Sunday that India’s democracy has become stronger due to the diligent efforts of both the judiciary and government bodies. He was addressing a programme organized in the Supreme Court premises on the occasion of Constitution Day. The President of India, Draupadi Murmu, and Chief Justice of the Supreme Court, DY Chandrachud, was also present at the event.
Continuing his address, Law Minister Meghwal said that the Indian Constitution is a dynamic and adaptable document. He said that the Constitution of India places India far above its neighbors in terms of law and order. He underlined how the Constitution has enabled India to deal with challenging times.
Arjun Ram Meghwal said, “Looking at the history of our neighboring countries, Pakistan and Sri Lanka close to us achieved independence, yet they are facing disruptions. Nepal and Myanmar also faced turmoil. He said Bangladesh faced its own issues.
Meghwal stressed the important role of the Constitution in taking India in the right direction: “Our momentum towards progress can be largely attributed to our living document, the Constitution.” Reflecting on India’s resilience, he commented, “Despite various challenging scenarios, doubts arose about our stability.
