JPMorgan Chase has dismissed rumors that its CEO, Jamie Dimon, endorsed Donald Trump for president. The clarification came after Trump shared a misleading post on his social media platform, Truth Social, claiming Dimon had endorsed him.
In a phone interview with CNBC, JPMorgan’s spokeswoman Joe Evangelisti said, “Jamie Dimon has not endorsed anyone. He has not endorsed a candidate.” This statement debunked Trump’s earlier claims.
When asked by NBC News about the false post, Trump admitted, “Somebody put it up,” and said he wasn’t aware of the source.
Dimon, who has previously expressed a desire to focus on policies that benefit both domestic and global agendas, stated in an interview last month, “I’m not endorsing anyone at this time.” Dimon emphasized that he is more focused on policy than individual candidates.
While Dimon has praised and criticized Trump over the years, he has consistently avoided public endorsements. Last year, Dimon urged Democrats to “grow up” and listen to Trump supporters, suggesting a bipartisan approach to government.
JPMorgan Chase’s latest statement confirms that Dimon remains neutral in the upcoming presidential race, despite circulating rumors.
