The Jammu and Kashmir Board of School Education (JKBOSE) has announced the postponement of the annual examination for 10th standard students, originally scheduled for March 7. The decision comes in light of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s upcoming visit to the region.
In a notification issued by the Director of Academics at JKBOSE, it was stated: “Due to unavoidable circumstances, the examination of Vocational Subjects including agriculture, apparels, makeup and home furnishing, automotive, beauty and wellness, health core, IT & ITES, Physical Education & Sports, Plumbing/Retail, security, telecommunication, tourism and hospitality, electronics and hardware of Secondary School Examination (Class 10th) Session Annual (Regular) 2024 of Soft Zone areas of UT of Jammu & Kashmir, which was scheduled to be held on 07-03-2024 has been postponed.” However, the examination of the remaining subjects scheduled from March 11 will proceed as per the previously issued date sheet.
The decision to postpone these specific exams underscores the logistical challenges and security arrangements associated with the Prime Minister’s visit. JKBOSE aims to ensure the smooth conduct of examinations while accommodating the visit’s impact on the region’s administrative and security arrangements.
Students, parents, and educational institutions are advised to stay updated with further announcements from JKBOSE regarding the rescheduling of the postponed exams. This postponement highlights the delicate balance between educational activities and significant events that require extensive logistical arrangements, emphasizing the need for flexibility and adaptability in scheduling academic assessments during such periods.
