In preparation for the second phase of the Jammu and Kashmir Assembly elections, authorities are taking robust measures to ensure a peaceful polling process. District Election Officer (DEO) Vishesh Paul Mahajan, overseeing the Reasi district, confirmed that a flag march was conducted in Katra by security forces, including the Jammu and Kashmir Police and paramilitary personnel. This march was organized to demonstrate control over the law and order situation and reassure residents of their safety ahead of the elections.

Vishesh Paul Mahajan emphasized that voting will take place from 7 am to 6 pm, and urged all eligible voters to come out and cast their ballots without fear. He also issued a stern warning to any individuals or groups attempting to disrupt the electoral process, stating that such actions would face consequences. This move is seen as part of a broader effort to maintain security and calm in an area where elections have historically faced challenges due to tensions.

The second phase of polling, scheduled for September 25, will cover 26 assembly constituencies across six districts, including key constituencies like Kangan, Ganderbal, and Budgam. This phase is particularly crucial, as it will shape the political future of several prominent candidates, including former Chief Minister Omar Abdullah.
