The Jammu and Kashmir Meteorological Department has issued a weather forecast for the next six days, indicating partly to generally cloudy conditions across the region. The department has also established a color code system to signify the level of caution required, with green indicating no action, yellow suggesting the situation needs monitoring, orange prompting government agencies to prepare for severe weather, and red mandating action by the authorities. Regarding temperatures, Srinagar recorded a low of 3.9°C, slightly above the previous night’s 3.5°C and 4.8°C above normal for this time of year. Qazigund experienced a minimum of 3.8°C, also higher than the previous night’s 2.6°C, but 4.8°C below normal. Pahalgam’s low temperature dipped to 1.2°C, 4.6°C below normal, while Kokernag recorded a minimum of 2.8°C, 0.6°C above normal.
In north Kashmir, Kupwara town witnessed a low of 3.0°C, 4.1°C above normal, while Gulmarg experienced a minimum of minus 0.2°C, 2.9°C above normal.
