An encounter erupted on Tuesday between suspected terrorists and security forces in the Thanamandi area of Rajouri district. The clash occurred during a joint search operation that was launched based on specific intelligence inputs indicating the presence of militants in the region.

According to a police statement, the operation, which took place within the jurisdiction of Police Station Thanamandi, led to an exchange of gunfire after contact was established between the security forces and the terrorists. The area has since been cordoned off as security personnel intensify their search to locate the militants hiding in the forested terrain.
