In a heated exchange on Wednesday, BJP’s Kishtwar candidate Shagun Parihar accused opposition candidates from the PDP and National Conference of attempting to undermine her campaign by claiming she was playing the victim card to garner sympathy. Addressing these allegations, Parihar stated, “The PDP candidate came here and said this girl is playing the victim card and trying to get sympathy. I felt bad. I said, ‘Why would I play the victim card? You have made me a victim.'”

Parihar described an incident where workers from the PDP and National Conference allegedly tried to disrupt the polling process. She claimed that these workers entered the polling area, creating chaos in a restricted zone. “Their workers came inside, where polling is taking place. No one can come there. The party runs, throw the party out, we will show this to her,” Parihar remarked.

Despite these disruptions, Parihar stated that the situation was brought under control, and polling continued smoothly. “There was probably one person who did not have the identity card, and the rest was normal,” she said, dismissing concerns about significant polling irregularities.

While casting her vote, Parihar discussed her vision for the future of Jammu and Kashmir. She urged voters to think carefully about their choices and the issues that would follow. “Just think and find out what you have to do after exercising your right to vote. What will you do with the victory and what will be the issues?” she said.

Expressing confidence in a BJP victory, Parihar criticised the coalition government of the National Conference, PDP, and Congress, predicting its downfall. “The BJP government will be formed in Jammu and Kashmir, and this coalition government of National Conference, PDP, and Congress will fall apart like a pack of cards,” she asserted.

Addressing concerns about terrorism in the region, Parihar claimed that the BJP has made significant strides in combating the issue. “Terrorism is also like a lamp that is fluttering before it gets extinguished, and very soon Kashmir will be terrorism-free,” she stated.
